Accelerated Program for Health Professionals

For health professionals such as physiotherapists, massage therapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, medical doctors, athletic therapists, naprapaths, pedorthists, dentists, pharmacists, nutritionists, social workers, personal support workers, psychologists, kinesiologists, homeopaths, naturopaths, etc who wish to enter the rewarding health care profession of manual osteopathy; NAO offers the Accelerated Manual Osteopathy Program for Health Practitioners. These health practitioners will be exempted from taking the basic science courses and as such they may finish the Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice (DOMP) program in 6 months full time or 12 months part time.

NAO offers the DOMP program either as a campus based program at its York University Heights campus in Toronto, Ontario (Canada) or through the online on-demand study at home distance education program with two weeks of condensed practical classroom based training sessions.

What makes NAO education unique is that it is geared towards success. NAO graduates successful manual osteopaths. World famous osteopath; Dr. Shahin Pourgol (www.pourgol.com) personally teaches business, marketing, financial and clinic management skills to all classes (campus based and online). Students learn all the knowledge necessary to become a successful manual osteopath. NAO graduates are ready for the real world upon graduation.

National Academy of Osteopathy is accredited by Canadian Manual Osteopathy Examining Board (CMOEB), International Osteopathy Examining Board (IOEB), College of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners of Ontario (COMPO), Ontario Association of Osteopathy & Natural Medicine, Ontario College of Osteopathic Rehabilitation Sciences (OCORS), British Columbia College of Osteopathic Rehabilitation Sciences (BCCORS), Ontario Osteopathic ∓ Alternative Medicine Association, Alberta College of Osteopathic Rehabilitation Sciences (ACORS), British Columbia Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners, National Manual Osteopathic Society, Society of Osteopaths of Canada, Council on Manual Osteopathy Education (CMOE) and it is a full member of International Osteopathic Association (IOA).

NAO graduates may practice manual osteopathy in all Canadian provinces, all United States of America states, as well as most other countries in Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, Africa and Latin America. In countries such as Canada and USA where osteopathy is regulated, our graduates work as osteopathic manual practitioners or manual osteopaths as the term osteopath is reserved for osteopathic physicians who practice surgery and provide medications and who are members of the provincial college of physicians and surgeons.
