Accelerated Programs

Accelerated Program for Health Professionals

For health professionals such as physiotherapists, massage therapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, medical doctors, athletic therapists, naprapaths, pedorthists, dentists, pharmacists, psychologists, kinesiologists, and naturopaths who wish to enter the rewarding health care profession of manual osteopathy; NAO offers the Accelerated Manual Osteopathy Program for Health Practitioners. These health practitioners will be exempted from taking the basic science courses and as such they may finish the Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice (DOMP) program in 6 months full time or 12 months part time.

What makes NAO education unique is that we heavily focus on chronic pain management as well as business management. NAO is the only school of osteopathy in the world where its graduates receive a free fellowship in osteopathy chronic pain management. Additionally the students receive over 250 business management lectures from registered manual osteopath & certified naprapath, Dr. Shawn Pourgol (NAO president) who is also the founder of Osteopathy Chronic Pain Clinics of Canada (378 clinics in 34 countries), Pourgol Osteopathy Chronic Pain Hospital in Panama, California Health University (Los Angeles), Seville University of Health & Medicine 9Spain), Pourgol Osteopathy Chronic Pain Research Center (Spain), National University of Medical Sciences (USA, Spain, Panama), Coalition for Regulation of Manual Osteopathy in Ontario, Canadian Union of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners and World Osteopathy Day. The ability of our graduates in treating chronic pain plus their business management skills are the reason why they have annual gross income of $150,000 which is $60,000 more than what other manual osteopaths make in Canada.

National Academy of Osteopathy is accredited by the Council on Manual Osteopathy Education of International Osteopathic Association and the US Council on Osteopathic Manual Practice Education of the American Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners. Our DOMP graduates are accepted by many associations that are accepted by health insurers such as ACMA, ACTMD and the College of Registered Manual Osteopaths (Canada) that awards NAO graduates who successfully complete their board exams and other requirements the title of Registered Manual Osteopath (RMO). The RMO title is accepted by most extended health plan insurers across Canada for reimbursement of osteopathic care given to their policy holders.

NAO DOMP program is accepted by the American Association of Natural Wellness Practitioners (where NAO president is a member of the Advisory Board). Membership allows NAO graduated manual osteopaths to practice in all 50 states as an osteopathic manual practitioners when they fulfill all membership requirements of the AANWP.
