05 Apr New Campus Hunt: Rooftop Garden Winner in Toronto
Today Maria (our hardworking registrar), the National Academy of Osteopathy executive board, and I went on a real estate marathon across Toronto—five offices later, we have a winner! ❤️
1275 Finch Ave West in Toronto stole our hearts. This bright, happy, colorful medical building in York University Heights (a few minutes from our current campus) is steps from Finch West subway, has tons of free parking around (a Canadian miracle), a killer Toronto skyline view with the CN Tower, and… wait for it… a rooftop garden. Yes, our future students might literally study on a park on the roof. Try beating that! 😀
Bonus: Tim Hortons, pizza, pharmacy, and every medical clinic imaginable are already in the building. Basically, you can study osteopathy, caffeinate, eat, and get a check-up without leaving the building! 👍
Now comes the “fun” part—negotiating a 10-year lease, convincing the current tenant to leave before 2027, asking for a discount (because… prices 😅), and turning a maze of offices into something usable without going bankrupt!
But honestly… a rooftop park on a colorful building? I’m already sold! Not many schools in the world can say that! 😀
