Cupping therapy

Cupping therapy

Cupping therapy is a time-honored manual therapy that uses gentle suction to help improve local circulation, reduce muscle tension, promote relaxation, and support the body’s natural healing processes. Many people find it beneficial for relieving muscle soreness, enhancing recovery after physical activity, and improving overall well-being. When incorporated into manual osteopathic care, cupping therapy can be an effective complement to other hands-on treatment techniques.

In these photos, Professor Grace So, Manual Osteopath, is teaching cupping therapy to the campus-based students of the National Academy of Osteopathy at our York University Heights campus in Toronto.

National Academy of Osteopathy has more technique instructors than any other osteopathy school in Canada. Our 2,260-hour Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice (DOMP) is accepted by major professional associations across Canada, enabling graduates to join organizations that provide access to TELUS eClaims for direct billing and reimbursement through major insurance companies, including Canada Life, Sun Life, Manulife, Green Shield, and many others.
