26 Nov $70 vs $250 — Physiotherapy vs Manual Osteopathy
I was supposed to stay home two weeks after my radius surgery… but come on, this is Naples, paradise! I’m not built for staying indoors that long, so I started walking anyway.
Then I learned I must do 12 sessions of physiotherapy. The shocking part? $70 a session! How does someone study 7 years and charge $70 an hour? My National Academy of Osteopathy graduates study one year and charge $250 an hour in Naples!
Dentists and physiotherapists keep telling me the same story: big corporations open clinics, cut fees, and the poor solo practitioners can’t compete. Many end up shutting down and working as employees.
But manual osteopathy and naprapathy? Too small for the corporate radar! I’ve seen naprapaths charging $350, and manual osteopaths $250, with waiting lists that look like concert tickets.
So if you’re choosing a profession in the U.S., think twice. Why study 7+ years to end up an employee… when you can study manual osteopathy or naprapathy, be in demand, and have patients waiting months to see you?
